OVERVIEW
Workforce Preparedness for Behavioral Health Crisis Response
The Crisis Now Training Series supports Alaska’s health and human services workforce with targeted education designed to prepare professionals for high-impact, community-based crisis response. These sessions build essential skills for those working in behavioral health, public safety, emergency response, and care coordination roles—ensuring teams are equipped to respond with compassion, cultural awareness, and clinical effectiveness.
Based on the national Crisis Now framework and adapted for Alaska’s unique needs, this training series promotes cross-sector collaboration, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and efficient navigation of the crisis care continuum.
All trainings are available online and can be delivered live or on-demand. Organizations can request customized sessions to meet their specific workforce development goals. Trainings are currently offered at no cost; however, a fee structure may be introduced after July 1, 2025, based on available funding.
